Dr. Hamid is the President and founder of Dulles Geotechnical and Materials Testing Services, Inc. (DGMTS). An Industry Leader with more than 30 years of industry leadership who has mastered the merger of Technology with Civil Engineering. He leverages his extensive knowledge and expertise of area geology and current industry standards to provide optimal business acumen to our clientele. His responsibilities include project management, design, and quality control on multi-disciplined engineering and construction projects.
Dr. Hamid is a Registered Professional Engineer and an expert in geotechnical engineering with special emphasis in foundation engineering, retaining wall and support of excavation system design, material analysis, and finite element modelling. Dr. Hamid has worked and managed several design-build and design-bid-build projects such as DC-295/I-295 pavement design, Slope Stability and groundwater investigation for 16th Street Bridge over Piney Branch Parkway, Washington, DC, First Street Tunnel, Washington, DC, Route 340 Bridge Replacement over Gooney Creek, Warren County, VA, New MSGR and Renovations to the Consulate Building and Out-Buildings, U.S. Consulate Guayaquil, Ecuador, Foundation Options for CAC Building, US Consulate, Lagos, Nigeria, Route 29/Route 666 Interchange, Culpeper, Virginia, Geotechnical Services for Poplar Point shaft tremie slab at Blue Plains Tunnel project, Auger Cast Piles Design and Inspection for Poplar Point Pumping Station, CCTV Sewer Inspection and Concrete Coring, DC Water’s DC Clean Rivers Project, Division J – Northeast Boundary Tunnel (NEBT) Washington, DC, Special Inspection and Testing Services, Phase 2 of the Dulles Corridor (Silver Line) (Loudoun and Fairfax Counties, VA).
Prior to inception of DGMTS, Dr. Hamid was an Associate Principal with a Virginia based geotechnical firm and managed several design-build projects such as Rout 50 widening, Fairfax County Parkway Phase III, Rte. 27/244 Interchange in Arlington, design-bid build projects such as Multiple Bridge Replacement Projects in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, and Edinburg, DC Clean River Project–Division I, VRE Third Track, I81/Rte. 37 Interchange, and private sector projects such as Sheridan Terrace Retaining Walls Stabilization Measures, Pavement Design, North Loop Road, Fort Belvoir, A Charter School in Washington, DC. And Ellicott City Senior Project, MD. North Dakota, Wardman Retaining Wall, DC.
