Transform I-66 – Outside the Beltway, VA, VDOT

Construction: 2017-Continued             Construction Cost: $2.5 Billion

The Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project will provide new travel choices and congestion relief across a 22.5-mile stretch of I-66 from I-495 to near Route 29 in Gainesville in each direction, with dedicated express lane access points, and space in the median reserved for future transit.

Dulles Corridor Metrorail (Silver Line), VA, VDOT

Construction: 2018-Continued             Construction Cost: $2.9 Billion

Starts from Wiehle-Reston East Station, extends the Silver Line 11.4 miles. Includes 5 new stations built on ground level, an aerial station at Dulles International Airport, Reston Town Center, Herndon, Innovation Center, Washington Dulles Airport, Route 606 and Route 772 Ashburn.

Potomac Yard Metrorail Station, VA, VDOT

Construction: 2019-Continued           Construction Cost: $320 Million

Located between the Ronald Reagan Washington Airport and Braddock Road Stations along Metrorail's existing Blue & Yellow Line. Bordered by George Washington Memorial Pkwy, Potomac Greens neighborhood and active CSX tracks, Potomac Avenue and Potomac Yard Shopping Center.

Route 7 Corridor Improvements, VA, VDOT

Construction: 2019-Continued     Construction Cost: $313.9 Million

Will improve 7 miles of Route 7 between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive in Fairfax County, widen the road from 4 to 6 lanes, add shared-use paths and make intersection along the corridor. This will increase capacity, safety, traffic flow and mobility for pedestrians.

 

5.

First Street Tunnel, DC, DC Water

Construction: 2013-2016                      Construction Cost: $8.5 Billion

Part of the Clean Rivers Project, lessens the effect storms have on the undersized sewers and basement backups in the district’s historic Bloomingdale neighborhood. The infrastructure, designed to mitigate sewer flooding including the tunnel, are located within the neighborhood.

Purple Line Transit, Bethesda, MD, MDOT

Construction: 2017-Continued          Construction Cost: $2.4 Billion

A 16-mile light rail line extending from Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George's County will provide direct connection to Metrorail Red, Green & Orange Lines at Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park, New Carrollton, MARC, AMTRAK & local buses.
