Service: Laboratory Testing

DGMTS maintains and operates a full service Geotechnical and Materials Testing Laboratory. We offer a wide range of laboratory testing services including direct shear testing, residual direct shear testing, consolidation testing, permeability testing, soil index testing, moisture/density testing as well as many other tests performed under the supervision of Professional Engineers, Laboratory Manager direct a staff of technicians with certifications by ACI, VDOT and WACEL.

We also offer in-situ testing including field monitoring and testing of soil fill materials using the sand cone and nuclear gauge methods. We have capabilities of performing in-situ permeability tests using constant head permeability as wells as falling head permeability methods. We also provide PDA testing.

Our laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and we are member of Washington Area Council of Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (WACEL). Our Accreditation conforms to the requirements of ASTM D3740, ASTM E329, and AASHTO R-18.
